3/23/2023 0 Comments Superscribe softwareNo Reddit community for feedback on product development (SuperNote has Dropbox - albeit it's not very secure as it requires full and complete access to your Dropbox rather than just using it's own application folder) No support for 3rd-party storage, you will be locked-in to Amazon's ecosystem. The Note app on SuperNote will have much more features. Likely writing experience is worse than SuperNote (need to wait for actual reviews to see). I much prefer the Supernote ceramic fine tip on the special film that SuperNote has, it feels more like pen on paper which is what I prefer (rather than pencil on paper feel). Worse pen (subjective) - Need to replace nibs (like the Remarkable/Onyx devices). No 7.8" version, 10" may be a bit too big for people like myself who prefer a moleskin sized device for reading/writing. (Supernote has a companion app, but it's slow and needs some work)īetter Kindle reading app experience (much better than the Kindle Android App or E-Ink experience)ģ00 dpi screen on 10" version compared to 226 dpi on A5X Likely better cloud synchronization (Supernote sync is really slow, but hopefully it's being worked on)īetter cross-platform integration/support across MacOS, Windows, Android, iOS. If there are security vulnerabilties, you likely can't expect them to be patched on SuperNote.)īetter cloud security (though SuperNote runs on AWS as well, Amazon has a much larger team and more mature security posture) If you're primary focus is writing, the Supernote will likely have the better writing experience and the device looks better too :)īetter device security (SuperNote runs on a very old version of Android and the Linux Kernel for Android that is no longer supported. The Kindle Scribe hasn't been released yet, so we can only compare based on the specs. But consider if you will use it like paper that paper has no frontlight too, so you may not miss it. If you ABSOLUTELY NEED a frontlight, I would buy the Scribe. Just be aware getting files on and off may be less "open". If you literally just need a Kindle and PDF reader first, only need to write directly on PDFs, and need a simple/basic paper replacement (none of the other organizational features aside from file names and folders) then I would definitely consider it for the price point and the (theoretical) durability of the hardware. Speaking as a long-time Kindle Paperwhite user, getting files on/off conveniently may also need a third party app if you're not a fan of send-to-kindle, but that's a bit of speculation. For example, it seems you can only write directly on PDFs, for everything else (including Kindle) you can just leave sticky notes. But from what I have seen it seems more limited in terms of what you can do in terms of note-taking.
